Shiba Inu Whales

Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s layer-2 network, faced a sudden shutdown due to unexpectedly high traffic when it launched its main net.

It’s now set to have a public relaunch tomorrow, as announced by Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, in a recent blog post.

“After two days of testing and tweaking parameters to achieve a ‘ready’ state, Shibarium is now enhanced and optimized,” Kusama said, indicating a big step forward in correcting the difficulties that prompted the network to shut down.

He acknowledged that, while the network is still being tested, it is “producing blocks.”

The Shibarium team added extra safety features to handle the high traffic influx that caused the initial issues.

Kusama shared, “We have enabled a new monitoring system and additional failsafe, including rate limiting at the RPC level and auto server reset in case we get a huge level of traffic again.”

These incorporations showcase the team’s forward-thinking stance in preparing for potential surges in traffic, underscoring the platform’s dedication to providing continuous service without interruptions.

In response to the project’s concerns and negative comments, especially after the unexpected operational pause, Kusama directly spoke to the community, explaining how to distinguish genuine feedback from those attempting to create “fear, uncertainty, and doubt,” or FUD.

He added, “You’ll be able to tell fudders as they constantly switch their complaints as the Fud becomes provably false considering things advancing and changing as we remain agile.”

Shibarium to Relaunch Tomorrow?

In this context, Kusama highlighted the clear progress made toward Shibarium’s launch and the project’s bigger vision.
“For instance, one piece of fud is that Shibarium was never going to come. Kek. Fud ded,” he remarked.

Concerns about decentralization were addressed by Kusama, who said, “This fud is now also laughable as I’ve presented what is, arguably, the most comprehensive decentralization document the world has ever seen.”

Moving ahead, the Shiba Inu lead developer shared upcoming plans, which involve adding more validators and wrapping up ongoing tests soon.

“Tomorrow additional validators will go live, giving even more options for you to stake your BONE for a share of the rewards earned for these two roles in our society,” Kusama stated.

He also mentioned the “ShibPaper,” a framework aimed at demonstrating a “working system for governance and management that proves our perpetual decentralized digital nation-state is real and here to change the world.”
