WEMADE, a prominent global gaming company based in South Korea (KOSDAQ: 112040), has teamed up with the DIFC Innovation Hub, a leading center for technology and innovation in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region.
Their collaboration aims to establish a worldwide Web3 gaming hub called the ‘WEMIX PLAY Center,’ with the goal of enhancing Dubai’s gaming ecosystem and contributing to the ambitious ‘Dubai Program for Gaming 2033.’ This initiative seeks to position Dubai among the top 10 global gaming industry hubs.
As the first South Korean gaming company to partner with the DIFC Innovation Hub, WEMADE will utilize the hub’s accelerator schemes, innovation community, and supportive regulatory frameworks. The primary focus of this partnership is to expand the WEMIX ecosystem, including plans to create the ‘WEMIX PLAY Center’ within the DIFC Innovation Hub. This center will serve as a hub for onboarding Web3 game companies.

A pivotal element of this collaboration involves the establishment of a USD 100 million investment fund, with WEMADE leading the initiative. The fund’s objective is to provide a go-to-market pipeline for Web3 game developers, offering targeted access to millions of active players on the WEMIX PLAY platform, which is WEMADE’s native platform for Web3 games. Currently hosting over 65 games from third-party developers alongside WEMADE’s main intellectual properties (IPs), the platform serves as a vibrant ecosystem for gaming enthusiasts.
Henry Chang, CEO of WEMADE, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, emphasizing the UAE’s position as a dynamic hub for innovation. The partnership is expected to culminate in a Web3 event scheduled to take place in Dubai in the first quarter of 2024, providing a platform for additional collaboration and showcasing the innovative strides being made in the global gaming industry.
